Dear Sir: My purpose in using AGRI 2 was because of its advantages of improved mixing and anti-foaming in the tank. It was mentioned to me that it would also enable rainfall to penetrate plow pan. I didn't swallow that thought in particular – would only a pint of surfacant per acre make a difference? Now I'll claim that it's the main advantage and will use it following harvest as a tool to help replenish our subsoil moisture. Another thing that amazes me is the improved tilth of the soil. The neighbor's fields adjoining mine have a puddle and soapy surface compared to mine, which has become mellow. On the corn I applied 1 pint of AGRI 2 with a tank mix of Lasso-Atrazine and 20 gallons of water per acre two days after the corn was planted. The weed control was excellent even on a 40 acre area that, last year, was severely infected with giant foxtail. The milo received the same mix except the herbicide was Ramrod Atrazine. This year, in which we learned how precious moisture can be, it is my opinion that AGRI 2 helped make the most of the limited rainfall. I've used other wetting agents in past years but never experienced the lasting benefits I find with AGRI 2. Ten days ago I employed my neighbor, who is a government crop insurance adjuster, to run yield checks. The corn, following bean, calculated 102.5 bu. per acre. He didn't make his check in the best part of the field and the crop hadn't reached maturity at that date. The unique characteristics of my cornfield is how it improves in growth and yield the first few rows in from the road fence. Such as the sixth row being about 2 feet taller than the outside row. While all the other corn in this area tends to drop off drastically in yield from the outside row. Proving to me that AGRI 2 was the factor that won the bout with heat and drought stress. Further Proof of AGRI 2 Effectiveness Greater yields are a result of proper nutrient distribution, adequate moisture penetration and favorable growing conditions. The importance of AGRI 2 as a wetting agent cannot be over-emphasized, particularly during a severed drought. The corn pictured above shows the results of a tract treated with AGRI 2 as compared to an adjacent sector with no application. Bill Mitchell, through the use of AGRI 2, realized a 124 bushel per acre yield on hilly ground under drought conditions compared to a somewhat lower yield in adjoining fields. The effect of AGRI 2 on the soil moisture suspension is readily apparent in the above photo. Compaction of the formation of “plow-pan” is an ever-growing problem of continuous cultivation. AGRI 2 restricts the rate of water evaporation by helping water quickly sink below the exposed surface soils and escape wind and sun, the greater causes of evaporation. The more porous soil has better aeration, less compaction and absorbs moisture rather than allowing it to run-off. Proof of superior ear size and excellent kernel development is illustrated in photo at right. Even though the diameter of the cob appears to be about the same, the size and number of kernels from the treated cornfield are beyond comparison and quickly add up to high yields per acre. The heart of any plant is a highly developed root system. In the root system photos shown, notice the favorable results of increased moisture. The greater number of hair-like roots is a result of increased moisture brought about by the application of AGRI 2 which increased the depth of water penetration and thereby helped maintain soil moisture levels. Deeper penetration from rain or irrigation allows the root system to grow deeper and more dense. AGRI 2 … an important part of your growing operation, now offered at a price that makes it even more practical. With AGRI 2 and Without . . . Very little apparent run-off was visible between the rows on the Mitchell corn even after a late season rain of over 8 inches in a one-week period. Better developed crops from planting to harvest make a difference when you use AGRI 2. Producing bigger and better crops, more efficiently, is becoming vital to farmers feeding an ever-growing population. Reliance upon wetting agents such as AGRI 2 became a more important factor for a successful, bountiful harvest. The cost of AGRI 2 per acre is only a fraction of the profit realized from one bushel per acre increase in yield.
